My name is Ben Cockshott. I have over 12 years of experience as an elite personal trainer and strength-and-conditioning coach, CrossFit coach, Weightlifting Coach and sponsored weightlifting athlete. I am also a massage therapist, passionate about keeping my clients injury-free while obtaining their goals. I will not pretend to be an expert about everything, but love to learn and continue to stay up-to-date on the newest industry information.
I earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Exercise Science with a minor in Sports Coaching at McDaniel College where I founded the Rugby Club after suffering a career-ending shoulder injury playing college baseball. I have been an athlete my entire life and understand what it takes to become a top collegiate prospect, as well as recover from debilitating injuries. My on- and off-field involvement has lead me to pursue a career in massage therapy, a channel I intend to use to maximize athletic potential, aid in injury prevention, and expedite recovery.
Ultimately, I believe in training smart. Being apart of the fitness industry for over a decade, I have seen too many individuals and athletes alike either overdo it, or be unprepared for not just sport-specific performance, but the stressors of everyday life. My goal as a trainer first and foremost is to help you achieve your goals.
I don’t cookie cutter anyone into a set program; even my group class-clients have unique needs that are met daily. I will push you, but I will not make you do a workout I know you cannot do. I believe in the power of the basics, and I believe that fitness is individualistic. Your program, my coaching, and how I educate you will reflect accordingly.
